Café Politique
On Friday 10 February, Sheffield Central MP, Paul Blomfield, led the first Cafe Culture event at the Harland Cafe, asking “What makes a GOOD Society?” . The 50 tickets sold out quickly and a donation from ticket sales, plus a raffle on the night raised £188 for Paul’s chosen charity, the Cathedral Archer Project. The audience enjoyed an evening of lively debate and discussion, followed by a pea and pie supper. Everyone agreed that it had been a great evening.
March Cafe Culture Event
Friday 9 March – 7.00pm
For International Women’s Day, Harland Cafe is pleased to present Dr Ros Wollen who will be leading this month’s event. Ros has had a varied career from teacher, mechanic, North of England’s first female AA patrol through to founding and managing the Women’s Construction Centre in Sheffield. She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Sheffield Hallam University in 2009 and has given a lifetime of commitment to empowering women and opening the door to non-traditional career paths.
The topic for debate will be announced shortly and tickets are now on sale from Harland Cafe at £6, including a light supper and donation to a charity.

Hi, Came to the film show last night and really enjoyed it. Cannot seem to find your opening hours on your web site. I am interested in coming on the 10th Feb to the discussion. Keep me informed.
Hi Jeff
Glad you enjoyed the film show and thanks for pointing out the missing opening hours – they have now been added to the website. Tickets for the Cafe Politique are now on sale at the cafe so call in and pick one up.
How do I get a ticket for the Paul Blomfield event?
Tickets are available from the Cafe at a cost of £6 each and there are still a few left at the moment.
Can’t make the 10 Feb. Are there any future events planned? Also can you give me advance notice of them.
Hi Steve
We are planning to have an event on the second Friday of each month but still working on the future ones. They will be on the website as soon as they are confirmed.
